This massive collection of life-sized terracotta sculptures depicts the grand army that unified China under Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China, and which was buried with the emperor next to his mausoleum in 210–209 BCE. Only discovered in 1974, excavations are still ongoing and will take decades to fully uncover this huge necropolis of tombs and underground pits, including the Emperor's mausoleum itself.

Many huge pits containing life-size Terracotta Sculptures, some of which have not been unearthed:
- Excavated Pits: 4 (6,000 soldiers, unknown number of chariots and horses)
- Unexcavated Pits: Unknown number, including the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang
- Total Estimated Number of Sculptures: 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses, 150 cavalry horses
