Burning Man

This late summer event, inspired by its symbolic ritual burning of a large wooden effigy ("The Man"), is an experiment in community and art, influenced by ten main principles: radical inclusion, radical self-reliance, radical self-expression, communal effort, civic responsibility, gifting, decommodification, participation, immediacy, and leave no trace. It is now a major annual event drawing more than 60,000 participants every year and counting, including the ultra-rich and celebrities.
