Waitomo
Waitomo is a Maori word made up of two parts, 'Wai' which translates as water and 'tomo' which means entrance or hole. This tourist village is famous for its sheer beauty and scale of its subterranean landscape, especially its glowworm caves, while above ground the region contains many recreational pursuits for visitors to enjoy.
