Vatican Museums (Sistine Chapel)

The public museums of the Vatican City showcases the immense collection of the Catholic Church throughout the centuries, including many renowned Roman sculptures and masterpieces of Renaissance art. The Sistine Chapel, decorated by Michelangelo, was built in the 15th century and is the final room on the self-guided route. The chapel is famous for the frescoes that decorate the interior, most particularly The Creation of Adam and The Last Judgment.
