Sleepy Hollow
This village in the town of Mount Pleasant is famous as the setting for Washington Irving's 1820 short story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", and subsequent films, including its infamous specter, the Headless Horseman. Its roots in early American folklore has also led some to label it as one of the "most haunted places in the world".
