Siegestor
This memorial arch was commissioned by King Ludwig I of Bavaria in 1852 and originally dedicated to the glory of the Bavarian army. After sustaining heavy damage in World War II, was reconstructed and restored with an inscription by Wilhelm Hausenstein reading "Dem Sieg geweiht, vom Krieg zerstört, zum Frieden mahnend" (Dedicated to victory, destroyed by war, urging peace) dedicated to pacifism.
