Pamukkale

This "cotton castle" town in southwestern Turkey is most famous for its travertine terraces which the ancient Greek city of Hierapolis was built upon. Tourists now flock here to marvel at its ancient ruins or natural landmarks, dip in its pools or partake in hot air ballooning and other activities.
