Otagi Nenbutsu-ji
This Buddhist temple is famous for more than 1200 "rakan" stone statues representing humorous versions of Buddha's disciples. Most were carved by amateurs, taught by sculptor Kocho Nishimura, and donated in 1981 in honor of the refurbishment of the temple.
