Hutt Lagoon
This enormous salt lake is separated from the Indian Ocean by a beach barrier ridge and barrier dune system. The lagoon has a red or pink hue, depending on the time of the day and season, due to the presence of the carotenoid-producing algae Dunaliella salina.
