Göta Canal
This Swedish canal, constructed in the early 19th century, links the town of Sjötorp on Sweden's west coast all the way across to Mem and Söderköping along the Baltic Sea on Sweden's eastern shores. The canal is mostly used as a tourist and recreational attraction via pleasure cruises and is often considered the country's greatest feat of engineering.
