The unofficial red light district of Geylang roughly encompasses Lorongs 8 through 24, although it is much more toned down and "cleaner" now due to government policies. Nowadays, this inner core of Geylang is more known for its cheap and popular eateries, KTV lounges, dubious motels, and proximity to town for expats on a budget, plus many migrant workers.
