Camino de Santiago (Way of St. James)
This ancient pilgrimage route leads the devout to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Great in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain, where the remains of the saint are said to have been buried. At over 790 km (490 miles) long, this pilgrimage route takes about 30-35 days on foot and is still going strong today, with France's Jean Pied de Port starting point being the most popular route.
