Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial (Somme Battlefield)

This WWI memorial site commemorates the Newfoundland Regiment which was mostly wiped out during the first day of the Battle of the Somme. It is now a iconic war attraction and a rare place where one can see trench lines and no-man's land of the First World War in a preserved natural state.
