Banaue Rice Terraces

These terraces were carved into the mountains of Banaue largely by hand of the ancestors of the indigenous people over 2000 years ago and it is said that if the steps were put end to end, it would encircle half of the globe. The slowly deteriorating terraces are now a major tourist attraction and sometimes referred to as the "Eighth Wonder of the World".
