Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque (Sénanque Abbey)
This abbey was founded on the 9th of the Calends of July 1148 by a dozen of Cistercians monks and is now a popular tourist attraction, famous for its lavender gardens. One of the most pure examples of the primitive Cistercian architecture, a community of Cistercians monks is currently living in the Abbey of Sénanque, still following the rule of Saint Benedict.
