How To Remove Tough Stains From Leather & Fabrics

Remove Curry, Turmeric or Blood with No Side-Effects!

We were having a Thai dinner party one night, and a guest accidentally stained our (genuine) leather sofa with pineapple fried rice. Worse still, we did not notice it till next morning.

We then read up and tried many methods to clean the turmeric stain (such as baking soda, talcum powder, even vaseline!), bearing in mind that too much rubbing may discolour the leather further. But to no avail.

Finally, Jess found the holy grail through trial and error — Persil. So here's how to remove stubborn stains (even overnight stains) completely and with no negative side-effects:

1. Pour a tiny amount of Persil (Sensitive) liquid washing detergent on a clean, dry cloth.

2. Rub that part of the cloth firmly (but not too hard) on the stain for 30 seconds.

3. Dab a dry part of the cloth with a tiny bit of water.

4. Rub the damp part of the cloth firmly (but not too hard) on the stain for 30 seconds.

5. Wipe down the stain with a dry part of the cloth.

6. Repeat again the next day if stain still exists.

Our stain was completely gone after 3 rounds. We also discovered it worked on fabrics such as bedsheets and even clothes. Let us know if this works for you!
