So you want to go to Maldives for a holiday, but you either have a budget or don't have much time off. And I guesstimate 90% of Maldives' resorts are faraway from the only international airport in Malé (which results in expensive and long transfer times), so what are your options?
Simple, let's look at every resort (cheap and expensive) near the Malé int'l airport!

- Unless stated otherwise, all prices are during low season (usually), in USD from Agoda.com (which has some of the lowest prices anywhere) and include the 23% service tax, US$6 per night green tax and daily breakfasts.
- Starting room rates are for cheapest-tier couple rooms (usually garden villas).
- Transfer prices are for round trips per adult, child transfer prices are sometimes halved.
And save more by using a credit card that gives rebates or miles!
MOST AFFORDABLE TIER
As stated in my Maldives Guide 101, the following resorts are the cheapest among all those near to the international airport.
MID-RANGE PRICE TIER
These are more expensive (either about double the nightly rate or very expensive transfers or both)
LUXURY TIER
Then we have the uber-expensive resorts. These are the ultimate in luxury designed to give you the perfect paradise retreat provided you got the dough.
